I READ with quite some amusement the report about Wakefield Council having a problem with thieves at their waste sites (Express, June 19).
Could Wakefield Council not employ these thieves, and maybe the overflowing recycling bins may get emptied regularly and so let people who wish to recycle do so?
I have been badgering Wakefield Council for the past six months about the problem at Ferrybridge Recycling Centre. Every time you go to try to recycle, the plastic containers and metal can bins are overflowing and it's an eyesore.

Maybe Coun Rowley should be channelling her efforts in this direction, as nobody in Wakefield Council seems to be able to do anything about the problem.
The phrase flogging a dead horse is an understatement.
Do Wakefield Council really want people to recycle? Or is it just a publicity stunt to score points for their green credentials?
