FUN for all the family at a Castleford gala raised cash to help keep the community group who organised it afloat.
The gala – including games, stalls and fairground rides – was held by the Beancroft Legion of Neighbours Delegation (BLOND) residents’ group at fields off Barnes Road on Sunday July 27.
Angela Thornton, chairman of the Castleford group, said: “Everyone had a wonderful time and we certainly had excellent weather.
“Money raised will be declared at our next meeting and go into our funds to help keep the group going.
“I’d like to thank everyone who helped us organise the event, attended or loaned us facilities. We are already eager to start preparations for our third gala next year.”
