FEATHERSTONE ROVERS have launched a ground-breaking and radical scheme that could slash the cost of 2009 season tickets for adults and OAPs to just £50 each.

The move is the brainchild of major sponsor and director Andrew McNeil, who believes it gives the club an opportunity to tap into the huge 4,000 turn-out at last season's Grand Final.

"If we are to experience days like those again and strengthe
n our Super League application, we need to increase our attendance over the coming years and we think we have the scheme to do just that," said Mr McNeil.

It works on the premise that the more applications for season tickets, the cheaper they will be.

If there are 1500-2000 applications, next season's tickets will cost £100. That figure drops to £75 if there are between 2-3000 applications. And tickets will cost just £50 each if there are more than 3000 applications.

Fans are asked to confirm an application, by supplying their details and a £50 payment (£30 children) before the end of October.

After announcing the total number of applicants, there will then be a cooling-off period, during which time the club will return all cash to any fans no longer wanting to complete a purchase.

A final figure will be announced on November 30, detailing the final price for next season. If the club fails to reach the 3000 figure, a top-up payment will be required. If the club falls below 1500, prices will be notified accordingly and the £50 payment will act as a deposit or be refunded in full.

Next year's season tickets cover entry to every home NL1 fixture, all home Northern Rail Cup group games and the club's first Challenge Cup tie.

Next year the main stand will become a family-orientated enclosure, although existing season ticket holders will have the opportunity to retain their seat.

Any existing season ticket holders who would normally pay less than that dictated by the final application count will be charged at the lower rate. For example, if the club reaches the £75 category, fans eligible for the concessionary (£72) fee will pay the lesser amount.

Child season tickets remain at £30 and are valid for all the above games, plus away fixtures.

There is no stand transfer fee in 2009 - meaning all season tickets include seating.
