Leeds Rhinos 54
Castleford Tigers 12
THE Rhinos made mincemeat of the Tigers to guarantee at least second place in the final engage Super League ladder.
Substitute Jordan Tansey grabbed a second-half hat-trick to put the boot into Castleford's hopes of avoiding the wooden spoon.
The home side took charge after Tigers hooker Scott Moore's second-minute sin-binning for a late challenge.
Cas trailed 10-0 by the time Moore returned and although a Richie Owen try gave them a flicker of hope, the Rhinos stormed 24-6 ahead at the interval and 36-6 before Luke Dorn's 18th try of the season stopped the rot.
But three late tries underlined Leeds' superiority, with Gareth Ellis, possibly playing his last game at Headingley depending on his side's play-off progress, converting the final touchdown on the stroke of full-time.
